In 2025, Norwegian research institutions have been without a national publish-and-read agreement with Wiley, after Sikt and Sikt’s negotiation council were unable to reach an agreement with the publisher.

We have now reached an agreement with Wiley for 2026. All research institutions that participated in the agreement in 2024 have been informed that it is now open for enrolment.

Sikt’s consortia are open, meaning it is up to each institution to decide whether it wishes to join the agreement.

Overview of the agreement with Wiley for 2026

  • Publish-and-read agreement.
  • An article quota for the number of articles that can be published open access. This quota will likely be sufficient to provide 100% coverage of participants’ publishing in the publisher’s hybrid journals.
  • Perpetual access to the 2026 content. Perpetual access to the 2025 content can be ordered at an additional cost.
  • For 2026 there is a price reduction compared to the previous agreement.

15% discount on APCs for articles in gold OA journals. These articles will be invoiced directly from Wiley to the institutions participating in the publish-and-read agreement.

Negotiations for a new agreement from 2027 will be conducted later this year.
