Researchers across disciplines are increasingly pre-registering their hypotheses, methods, and analysis plans before they collect or analyze the data. In the Registered Reports publishing format, preregistration is submitted to a journal and after undergoing peer review, it can receive in-principle acceptance for publishing. This means that regardless of the results, the authors have preliminary acceptance of their work in the journal they wish to publish. How did Registered Reports start, what is their purpose, how well do they work for early career researchers and what do research funders think about this publishing format? Join this session to hear from our invited guests and participate in the Q&A session afterwards!
